Marina de Lagos Expansion Sets Course for September: New Berths Enter the Final Stretch
Construction work on the Marina de Lagos expansion continues to make excellent progress, with one of the most eagerly anticipated milestones now on the horizon: the opening of the new marina basin, scheduled for mid-September.
The installation of the pontoons and associated marine facilities is now in its final stages, bringing to life a modern, functional marina designed to accommodate yachts to the highest standards of comfort, quality and safety.
From mid-September, Marina de Lagos will offer 100 brand-new berths for vessels ranging from 12 to 30 metres in length, including suitable berths for catamarans. Designed to meet the expectations of today's leisure boating community, these new berths will provide modern infrastructure, convenient access, high-quality services and everything needed for a comfortable stay, whether for a short stopover or a longer visit.
As the pontoons take their place on the water, the new basin is already beginning to reveal what will become one of Portugal's most modern berthing facilities. Its enviable location close to Meia Praia, combined with the marina's prime position in the heart of Lagos and its long-established reputation for outstanding service, promises to make this expansion a preferred destination for both national and international boat owners.
The completion of this first phase marks an important milestone in the Marina de Lagos & Yacht Club project, increasing the marina's capacity to meet growing demand for berths suitable for larger vessels while further strengthening Lagos as one of the principal gateways for cruising between the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the Portuguese coast.
The second stage of the project, including the Yacht Club and outdoor public areas, is expected to start construction later this year.
With the countdown now underway, it won't be long before the first lines are secured to the new cleats and the new berths become a home port for both returning and first-time customers. By mid-September, Marina de Lagos will be ready to welcome the first yachts into the new basin, offering more space, greater comfort and a new chapter for those whose destination is always the sea.
See you in Lagos!
